Considered renting groundwater equipment?

Reasons for renting

Clients are increasingly turning to In-Situ Europe's rental option when it comes to the procurement of groundwater monitoring equipment.

For many people it's simply because we have become known for the size of our rental fleet and our convenient 8-day week hiring policy (to tide you over the weekend).

Others are taking the rental route for quite different reasons.

  • It's a handy way of helping businesses take on new projects before they need to make capital outlays.
  • Many people use rental as a convenient way to undertake evaluations of our products before they purchase.  A week's rental is usually enough to confirm how sensible their decision was.
  • Increasingly companies are adopting rental as a long term alternative to purchase. Maintenance and servicing are built into the rental cost, and equipment comes back to us if you don't need it.
Whatever your business or operational requirements why not take a look today at our list of groundwater rental equipment?

Our specialists are available on +44 (0)121 733 7743 or by emailing sales@in-situ-europe.com if you need any help.

Groundwater Training - Scandinavian Tour

If it's Friday it must be Stockholm

The In-Situ Europe groundwater training roadshow hit the continent for the first time ever recently as we conducted training courses in both Finland and Sweden.

The training sessions featured, of course, the groundwater monitoring expertise of Peter Dumble.

Fortunately it didn't need to feature the linguistic expertise of Mr. Dumble because as our UK readers know, all Scandinavians speak English at least as well as the majority of our own citizens.

The courses were hosted by In-Situ Europe distributors Amtele AB, and judging by the turn out they were a big success.

In-Situ Europe has distribution partners across the continent.  So if you are based in Europe or your organisation operates in any European country then why not contact us to see how easy using In-Situ Europe can be.

Call us today on +44 (0) 121 733 7743 or email europe.sales@in-situ.com.

Hands-On Groundwater Equipment Training

Time to get your hands dirty!

Our groundwater sampling methodology and equipment training course back in April was the groundwater equivalent of a One Direction concert.  Places were booked up within minutes and Peter Dumble, our primary trainer and genial host, received adulation on par with Harry Styles.

OK perhaps that analogy is a little exaggerated but as usual our methodologies course was completely over subscribed and Peter certainly got more questions than normal.

The highlight of these sessions is the fact that our Becketts Farm location has an on-site borehole where we can do some live, out in the open demonstrations and as you can see in the accompanying photo get audience participation too.

The feedback is never short of very positive. The overwhelming reaction is relief that we remain equipment neutral in reviewing the low flow and passive sampling techniques available to hydrogeologists. Yes the product demonstrations are from the In-Situ product portfolio but we know that our attendees can make up their own minds about which of the products on the market they want to choose.

The next training course in the 2015 calendar is our "Water Level Measurement using Data Loggers" course, which is a a practical guide to data loggers and how to improve accuracy.  It takes place in Birmingham on Tuesday June 30th. This session also includes some hands-on work.  You could get to try out some programming of loggers and we will be conducting slug tests in the aforementioned site borehole.

Sounds like one not to be missed doesn't it?

Low flow sampling in long screened wells?

Words of wisdom from our resident groundwater sampling expert

In-Situ Europe is fortunate to retain its connection with Peter Dumble, founder of Waterra UK Ltd., who now provides training and consultancy capability for us.

Peter is leading a series of sampling and level measurement courses throughout 2015 (including a Water Level Measurement training session in May!) during which delegates get to learn the latest in groundwater sampling and level measurement methodologies, as well as seeing a wide range of groundwater measurement and sampling instrumentation in action.

As if to prove his understanding of the intricacies of groundwater sampling Peter has, in conjunction with his co-authors from the University of Birmingham, written a detailed article for International Environmental Technology (IET).

Entitled "Groundwater Quality Sampling at Contaminated Sites: The Long and The Short Of It." the article explores the requirement to obtain "representative" groundwater samples even when monitoring wells are relatively long screened (i.e. greater than 3 metres).

Long screened wells provide many challenges to the ability of hydrogeologists to determine what is a representative sample in the first place and then collect it.  Issues such as geological differences through screen lengths and the influence of vertical flow are only two of the factors.

The article provides some food for thought regarding the choice of sampling methodologies.  The answer to the question of whether to use fixed volume purging, low flow or zero purge sampling techniques is use what it is correct for the particular environment.

Read the article in full at Environmental Technology or check out In-Situ Europe's guides to groundwater sampling methodologies.

Going Fast - Sampling Training Places

Second data added on 15th April to cope with the demand.

The latest running of our Groundwater Sampling Methodology & Equipment training course has proved to be as popular as ever.

Places on the April 14th session were booked up almost immediately. So we have added a second date on Wednesday April 15th at our Birmingham training facility.

This is your opportunity to get right up to date with the latest approaches in groundwater sampling and to see demonstrations of a range of advanced equipment. We even have access to a live borehole!

Renowned hydrogeologist Peter Dumble (Peter Dumble Hydrogeology) and product experts from the In-Situ Europe team will be providing a mix of classroom work, live demos and hands-on activity. Peter will be providing particular emphasis on low-flow and passive sampling techniques and bring you up to speed on current UK legislation.

For more details call us today on 44 (0)121 733 7743 to book your spot or visit the groundwater training page on our website for more details.
