Successful Groundwater Sampling Training

Waterra's most recent groundwater sampling methodology training course was a great success, judging by the feedback that we received from delegates.

This course focuses on providing attendees with an overview of different groundwater sampling methods, including 3 well volume purging, low flow (or "micro-purge") and passive sampling, and provides a hands-on practical introduction to the range of equipment available to perform sampling tasks.

The average overall rating for the day given by delegates using the Geological Society's CPD evaluation form was 1.1 (1 = Excellent, 5 = very poor), which is as good as it gets. We received a lot of favourable comments that reflected the hands-on nature of the day:

‘Excellent content and very well run. Useful for practitioners. Would definitely recommend’

‘I thought the course content was very thorough and particularly enjoyed the physical demonstrations. There’s nothing quite like seeing something in action! Also the experience of the presenters really showed’

‘ Very informative and interesting course relevant to my job. Excellent intro on the range of products and applications including limitations’

ISO 9001 & 14001 Re-certification

Julie Rose - Waterra UK Quality Management Representative
Julie Rose - QM Rep
On 11th August Waterra successfully passed their recertification audit for their Integrated Management System (IMS) incorporating ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004.

Waterra-In-Situ first achieved both the ISO9001 quality management and ISO14001 environmental standards in August 2005, being the first company of our type to attain both standards. We were delighted to be told by the assessment team that:

“Waterra’s IMS System is one of the best we have ever seen and is far better than many larger size businesses”.

This is high praise indeed and a real endorsement for the hard work and systematic approach of Julie Rose, our Quality Management Representative, in updating all our systems through an intensive period of transition following the Acquisition by In-Situ Inc at the start of 2011.

Waterra-In-Situ UK Managing Director Jon Trelfa says:

"Maintaining certification for both quality management and environmental standards is part of our ongoing strategy to provide excellent service. It also provides a mechanism by which we can keep improving our business processes."
